May Day

Happy May, Everyone!

Every year on May 1st, my mom would help my sister and me make May Day Baskets to hang on our neighbors’ front doors with little treats in them. I looked forward to it every year and it’s a tradition I definitely plan on continuing with my children someday.  I always love May 1st because it signals (in my opinion) the official arrival of Spring and brings back the fond memories of leaving (and finding) May Day Baskets every year.

I decided to make a little May Day Basket for my hubby and also a couple to bring to my mom and sister when I go back to Maine next weekend. I looked to Pinterest for some inspiration and there are some really sweet basket ideas out there.

If the inner nerd in you (like me) needs more info about May Day and its traditions, Wikipedia has a great article here.

Oh my goodness, I never knew this about the 1st of May! It’s my Papa’s birthday, so we just always celebrate that, but I never knew there was other stuff going on! How fun!!:)

    This is adorable!

So happy I found your blog. My husband and I met while at the GSD (studying architecture) and we had quite a few friends across the river at HBS. I love any reminder of our tim ein Cambridge before we moved to California and had 3 kids:)
